A pioneer in Marin's raw foods community, Lydia Kindheart opened her new vegetarian restaurant with a half-raw, half-cooked menu in Fairfax last month. The 48-seat family-oriented cafe uses only organic ingredients, and most dishes are vegan. Raw items range from dehydrated no-grain cereal with almond or rice milk ($5) at breakfast to "live lasagna" layered with zucchini noodles ($6.50) at dinner. (Aleta Watson, Mercury News)
